Description
Northgate Lodge is an early 19th-century villa that stands two storeys high with dormers and features three windows. There is a one-storey extension on the southwest side. The building has a Welsh slate roof, rendered stacks, and carved bargeboards at the gables. The front is finished in stucco and includes a cornice and parapet. A gabled dormer with carved bargeboards and finials adds to its character. The recessed sash windows have glazing bars, and the ground floor on the north front is complemented by a trellis verandah with a tented roof canopy. The main entrance is located in the extension and has a plain surround, a cornice supported by console brackets, and a panelled door. There is also a former garden entrance, now part of the extension, which features a round-arched gateway with rusticated voussoirs and surround, a cornice, and a blocking course, along with double panelled doors decorated with a Greek fret design.
