Description

The Turell headstone, dated 1756, is located against the west wall of the south transept, approximately 4 metres south of the south wall of the nave of the Church of St John Baptist in Instow. This Grade II listed headstone is made of slate and features a nowy arch with an angel's bust above the inscription, which reads: "Here lies the Body of John Turell of this parish mariner died 1756."
