Description
There are two chest tombs located approximately 4 to 6 metres south-east of the south-east corner of the chancel of the Church of St James. These tombs date from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. One tomb features an ashlar plinth and is dedicated to members of the Crocombe family, while the other has a brick plinth and slate slabs, commemorating Thomas Carder. The latter tomb is adorned with an angel figure at the head and decorated borders.
