Description

Bealy Court is a house built around 1830-1840, which includes some 17th-century elements in the rear kitchen range. The building is constructed of joint-lined stuccoed stone rubble and has a slate roof with deep bracketed eaves on the front gables. There are rendered stacks at each end of the house. The layout features a two-room and central passage plan, with a staircase located in a gabled projection at the rear of the passage. To the right, there is a two-storey integral outshut, and to the left, a service range that incorporates the 17th-century fabric, which includes a demolished shaft for a rear lateral stack and a short gabled wing at the back. This range appears to have been completely remodeled in the 19th century.

The exterior of Bealy Court is two storeys high and has a three-window range. The original 19th-century windows are intact, featuring 16-paned hornless sashes above 8 over 12 paned sashes. Shallow projecting gabled wings with rusticated quoins flank the recessed central bay, which boasts an impressive distyle in antis porch supported by granite columns and an entablature. The entrance features a raised and fielded six-panelled door with an overlight. The recessed service range to the left also has a three-window range, with all windows being 12-paned sashes. The interior has not been inspected but is believed to retain high-quality 19th-century fittings and decorative wrought iron balusters on the staircase.
