Description

SS 72 SE BISHOP'S NYMPTON

6/28 Webbery Moor Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. Probably late C17, perhaps a remodelling of an earlier house, C19 fenestration. Whitened plastered cob on stone rubble footings, rear elevation unplastered; slate roof, gabled at ends; axial stack and right end stack. Plan: Single depth plan, 3 rooms wide, the centre room heated from an axial stack with a lobby entrance against the stack. The left hand room is unheated, the stack of the right hand room may be an addition and it may also have been unheated originally. Rear right outshut, probably later than the main range. Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 4 window front, C19 front door to left of centre, second door to right of centre into right hand room. Attractive set of 2-, 3- and 4- light C19 small-pane casements. Interior: Not fully inspected. A chamfered crossbeam survives in the centre room and other early features may be concealed behind plaster. Roof: Not inspected. Timber said to be entirely new (information from owner). Virtually unaltered since the C19.
