Description
This is a pair of gravestones dating from 1690, located at the head and feet of the Stanbury children's grave, approximately 5 metres south of the east end of the Church of St John Baptist in Instow. The gravestones are made of stone and feature double segmental heads. The headstone includes incised skulls and an hourglass, with inscriptions on the left and right dedicated to Agnes and George Stanbury, the daughter and son of Richard Stanbury, who both died on 1st March 1690 at the ages of 15 and 11.
