Description

Ash House, located 3 metres east of Thornlands Farmhouse, is a small structure likely dating from the 17th century. It is built from local stone rubble and has a pitched slate roof. The east side features a plain window opening and is flat, while the other sides curve. The flat side is the tallest and has a monopitch roof made of pitched slate. Additionally, there is a small hatch at ground level on the north side. This ash house is an unusual feature for this part of Devon.
