Description
The former cemetery chapel, built in 1856 and likely designed by Edward Ashworth, is now used for storage. It is one of a pair of identical chapels. The structure is made of coursed rubble volcanic trap with Portland stone dressing, topped by a slate gabled-end roof featuring crested ridge tiles. The chapel has three bays, each with a two-light Decorated window, separated by buttresses that have two set-offs. There are also angle buttresses with two set-offs. The west doorway is double-chamfered and has contemporary double doors beneath a vesica. At the gable apex, there are crosses on the coping, and a three-light window is located on the east side. The building has some guttering with a single gargoyle on each side. The interior has had all furnishings removed, but the roof features principals and arch-braced cranked collars.
