Description
The gates and gatepiers located 20 metres south of the Church of St Mary in Hemyock were constructed in 1813. They feature coursed rubble sandstone piers that are square in shape, topped with moulded Beer Stone caps, each capped by a single ball. The double gates are made of cast iron and have a simple tracery design, complemented by an intersecting tracery overthrow that also has a ball finial. The date "1813" is prominently displayed in the centre of the overthrow.
