Description
The Methodist Church in Hemyock is a Wesleyan/Methodist church built in 1838. It features random rubble limestone construction and a gable end slate roof with deeply overhanging eaves that are boarded underneath. The building has a simple rectangular plan, with an entrance-end gallery and meeting rooms attached to the right side.
The front of the church is symmetrical, showcasing a tall round-headed 24-pane horned sash window on either side of a central panelled round-headed door, which is deeply recessed. There is a small oculus in the gable wall. Each side elevation has one similar sash window, and there are two sash windows at the rear. The meeting room, which is aligned with the chapel, has a gable end roof, another 24-pane sash window, and a panelled door. The interior has not been inspected.
