Description
Nos 21 to 24 on High Street in Topsham form an attractive two-storey row of buildings, primarily featuring late 18th-century details, although the structure is older. The first-floor overhangs slightly, and the eaves are supported by brackets. The fronts are finished in stucco and roughcast. No 23, known as Leyton House, has reeded pilasters at its doorway and a supporting overhang, along with a bowed window on the first floor. No 24 features a delicate iron balcony above its French window on the first floor. Overall, there are seven windows across the row, which are mostly sashes with some tripartite designs, and most include glazing bars. No 21 has a small shop front. The buildings are topped with slate roofs. This group of buildings is related to Nos 26 to 28, No 30, and Nos 32 to 34, as well as Broadway House's end wall and No 37.
