Description
No. 17 St David's Hill is a building established in 1839, with additions made in 1853 and 1860. It features a long red brick frontage that has been much altered and added to, yet it maintains a dignified appearance. The central part of the building shows signs of having been adapted from a good early 18th century five-window house, complete with a stone cornice. The second floor has sash windows with wide glazing bars. From left to right, the building consists of six bays of four storeys, with the top storey being modern; five bays of three storeys; and five bays of two storeys topped with a panelled parapet. The sash windows have keystone heads and glazing bars. The cornice and parapet are visible, but the roof is not.
