Description

This is a house dating from the 1840s, located on Fore Street in Heavitree, Exeter. It is likely stuccoed over brick and has a gabled slate roof with wide, bracketed eaves and rendered end stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and a main entrance on the left-hand gable. The symmetrical front facade, facing Fore Street, has two windows, featuring 8/8-pane sashes within moulded architraves, and a tented verandah supported by cast-iron columns. Early 20th-century dormers with flat roofs are visible. The rear elevation also has similar sashes and dentilled eaves. The interior includes an original staircase, though the balusters have been removed, along with enriched plasterwork. Group value is present due to the building's contribution to the streetscape.
