Description
Nos 44 to 53 on Queen Street are a notable example of mid-19th century stucco terraces in this area. The terrace consists of ten houses, with the center house featuring four storeys while the others have three storeys. The end houses are topped with pediments. The ground floor is rusticated and includes round-headed doors and windows. The first-floor windows of the central and end houses also have pediments. It is worth noting that the ground floor of No 44 has been altered. The houses have sash windows with glazing bars, although the top-floor windows of No 49 are false. Each house features six-panel doors with raised and fielded panels and fanlights. A heavy dentil cornice runs along the top, with a band below it. The parapet and slate roof are not visible from the street, and there are iron area railings, some of which are missing. Nos 44 to 53 form a cohesive group.
