Description

The Foundry is a cottage dating from approximately the 17th and 18th centuries. It is constructed of white-washed stone rubble and has a hipped thatched roof, with a gabled wing at the rear creating an L-shaped plan. It is two storeys high, with a five-window front. The windows are casements with leaded panes. On the ground floor to the right is a small shop window, likely dating from the early 19th century, with small panes and a decorative entablature. Rebuilt brick chimney stacks are at the ends. The adjacent iron and brass foundry, located to the south-east, has been demolished.
