Description

This headstone, dated 1833, is located approximately 4 metres east of the chancel of the Church of St Petrock in Farringdon. It commemorates John Canterbury and is made of slate. The upright slab stands about 1.2 metres high and features a shaped head. At the top, there is a low bas relief carving of an angel within a roundel, flanked by drapery on each side. The carving is supported by fluted pilasters with moulded caps and bases. The inscription, which records the death of John Canterbury in 1833, is set in a separate frame.
