Description
The Coxson headstone, located approximately 6 metres south of the nave of the Church of St Michael, is a Grade II listed memorial dated 1763 in memory of John Coxson. It is made of upright Beerstone and features a flat top with concave corners. The front of the headstone has a moulded frame, and above the inscription is a carved winged cherub's head. The inscription begins with one word in italic lettering, while the remainder is in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, commemorating the death of John Coxson in 1763.
