Description

The Slader headstone, dated 1754, is located approximately 10 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St Michael in Otterton. This Grade II listed headstone commemorates Andrew and George Slader. It is made of limestone and stands upright at about 800mm high, featuring a shaped head. The front of the headstone has a moulded frame, and the inscription is presented in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering. The inscription records the death of Andrew Slader in 1754, along with his son George, although the date for George is illegible.
