Description

The Wrich chest tomb, located approximately 7 metres northeast of the chancel of the Church of St Andrew, is a Grade II listed structure dated 1699 in memory of Mary Wrich. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and has a rectangular shape, resting on a moulded plinth. The lid features a soffit-moulded design with a low-pitched ridge along the top. The sides of the tomb are adorned with bead-moulded panels. Notably, the south side is inscribed with large rustic Roman serif upper and lower case letters, commemorating the death of Mary Wrich in 1699.
