Description
Sidbury House, formerly the Vicarage, is a detached house that was restored or rebuilt around 1840 after the original building was burnt down in 1812. It is two storeys high and features colour washed stucco with a hipped slate roof and overhanging eaves supported by shaped brackets. The south front is symmetrical, with three windows on the first floor and four full-length windows on the ground floor, all with recessed sashes and intact glazing bars. There is a glazed roof verandah supported by elegant platted iron columns, with a pair of columns at the centre. The entrance is located to the side, accessed through an enclosed porch that has pilasters and an entablature, though these details are obscured by roughcasting. The front has three windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor to the left of the entrance. The house is set back from the road in a large garden and is now divided into flats.
