Description

This is an illegible chest tomb located approximately 5 metres east of the chancel of the Church of St Mary. It dates from the 18th to early 19th century and is made of hamstone. The tomb has a rectangular shape and features a soffit-moulded lid with a low-pitched ridge. The plinth is now buried, and the long sides are flanked by fluted pilasters. The panel on the south side has an inscription in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, including some italics, but it is so lightly incised that it is illegible except in perfect lighting conditions.
