Description
The Mill House is an early 19th-century miller’s house located in Broadhembury, adjoining and contemporary with the old mill. It is built of red brick with a slate roof and has end stacks. The house has a rectangular plan and was likely originally two rooms wide, with a central entrance and a probable double depth. The symmetrical front facade has three bays. A central panelled front door is set below a glazed overlight and is sheltered by a porch hood. The windows are early 19th-century timber sash windows, most with 16 panes, except for a 12-pane sash above the front door; all windows have rubbed brick lintels. The interior has not been inspected but may retain early 19th-century features. The building has group value with Bakers Farmhouse and Dales House.
