Description

The gate-piers and gate located immediately southeast of Tracey Lodge date from the late 19th century. They mark the entrance to the now disused main drive leading to Tracey Lodge. The gate-piers are made of Bathstone and feature two square-section stone piers with plinths and panelled sides. Each pier has a pedimented cap on all four faces, supported by modillions. The timber gate, likely contemporary with the piers, has a design of curved and straight struts above and below the middle rail and is hung on an iron hinge. These features contribute to the group value with Tracey Lodge, which is situated just within the gate.
