Description
Stone Cottage, likely built in the mid-19th century, features coursed blocks of dressed flint with stone and brick stacks topped with 20th-century brick, and a slate roof. The cottage has a two-room central staircase plan and faces northeast, with rooms heated by end stacks. It is two storeys tall and has a symmetrical three-window front with original casements that include glazing bars. The outer bays have three-light casements, while the center window on the first floor is a two-light casement. All windows have flat arches with projecting keystones. The central doorway features a 19th-century part-glazed six-panel door. The roof is gable-ended on the right and continues over the adjoining cottage on the left. Although the interior has not been inspected, original joinery and other details are likely present due to the minimal alterations to the front. The small front garden is enclosed by a low wall made of flint, which is contemporary with the house, and includes square-section front gate posts topped with low pyramid caps. Feniton is a charming village that boasts a good collection of listed buildings.
