Description

The Tozer chest tomb, located approximately 9 metres north-east of the chancel of the Church of St Andrew, is likely from the 18th century and commemorates George Tozer. It is made of limestone ashlar and has a rectangular shape. The tomb rests on a chamfered plinth and features a flat lid that is soffit-moulded. Each long side has two fielded panels, while each end has a single panel. The west end is inscribed with Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, which records the death of George Tozer, although the date has worn off.
