Description
No 104 on Fore Street in Sidbury is an early 19th-century building. It is two storeys high, with a stucco facade and a gable end slate roof featuring a shallow eaves cornice. The front has three windows, with the centre window being blind on the first floor. The windows are two-light casements that were formerly fitted with Gothic glazing. On the ground floor, there is one casement window with shutters and an early 19th-century rectangular bay shop window consisting of four by two panes, complete with a frieze and a moulded cornice. An entablature extends over the doorways on either side, supported by unusual wrought iron scrolled brackets. The shop door is set back and is modern, while the house door to the right has six fielded panels.
This building is part of a group that includes The Old Clock House, Red Lion Inn, Sidbury Post Office, School House, Oak Cottage, Royal Oak Inn, and Nos 103 to 106 in succession.
