Description

This is an early 19th-century house, now a shop, located on the north-west side of High Street in Wootton Bassett. The house is constructed of brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with brick quoins, and originally had a stone slate roof, later replaced in 1982. The rear retains Welsh slates, and there’s a hipped dormer and gable stack. The facade is symmetrical, with a later 19th-century shopfront featuring slightly canted bay windows and timber glazing columns. A side entrance leads to a four-panelled door with a fanlight, fascia, and blind box. The first floor has four-pane sash windows with margin glazing. The eaves have brick dentil detailing. The building was formerly the Kings Arms Public House and forms a group with numbers 34 and 36.
