This is an 18th-century house, originally comprising two bays. It is constructed of ashlar limestone with a stone slate roof, incorporating some concrete slate tiles. The building has two storeys. A 20th-century door is located on the left side, and there are also 20th-century wooden windows. Relieving arches and keystones are visible above the blocked window openings. No. 54 has a painted roughcast front with later 20th-century doors and windows. Originally, No. 54 and No. 55 were built as a single property.
