Description
The Broome monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, about 1 metre east of the Hayward monument and north of the north-east angle of the north aisle of the Church of St. Bartholomew. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed of ashlar stone. The tomb features two fielded panels on each side, a fluted centre strip, and fluted baluster corners. It has a moulded base and cornice, with a frieze that is broken forward over each plaque. The north side of the monument has an inscription dedicated to J. Broome.
