Description
The Arnold monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 1 metre east of the Reynolds monument, north of the north-west end of the Church of St. Bartholomew. This mid 18th-century structure is made of ashlar and features two circular plaques on each side, with fielded piers between them and at the corners. It has a moulded base and cornice, with a pulvinated frieze that breaks forward over the piers. The west end displays a skull, bones, and an hour-glass, while the east end bears an inscription dedicated to W. Arnold.
