Description
London House is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. It is constructed of rendered limestone rubble that has been grooved to resemble ashlar, and it features a Welsh slate roof at the front. The building has two storeys and an attic, with four bays. On the ground floor, there is a doorway to the right of the centre that has a late 20th-century door. To the left, there is a 19th-century shop front with a recessed central entrance. The first floor has margin glazed sash windows. The stack is set back from the front. At the rear, there are two gabled extensions made of limestone rubble, covered with concrete slate tiles, one of which is quarter hipped and has an attic window. A panel featuring the arms of the Carpenter's Company is carved with the initials R.H., which may refer to Robert Harper, who was active in the second half of the 17th century.
