Description
No 106 on High Street is a mid-19th century building constructed of red brick. It features a hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves supported by paired carved brackets and has brick stacks. The building stands three storeys tall and has two ranges of windows. On the left side, there is a three-storey wooden bay from the late 19th century, showcasing intricate carving and moulding. The right side has sash windows with glazing bars, including a tripartite window on the first floor, above a segment-headed carriage entrance with panelled double doors. A moulded flat hood with elaborate brackets extends over the entire ground floor. The detailed carving was designed to advertise the building's then owner, a furniture maker. Nos 104 to 110, which are consecutive, form a group with this property.
