Description
The Shellard monument is a chest tomb located about 5 metres south of the west tower of the Church of St. Mary. It dates from around 1825 and is made of pennant stone. The monument features a plaque on each side and is flanked by urns with drapery above. It has a moulded base and a moulded ridged capstone. The ends of the tomb are shaped like lyres and include husk drops. The earliest recorded date associated with the monument is 1823, linked to Juleeann Shellard.
