Description
Knightsmead Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 18th century, possibly built over an earlier timber frame. It is constructed of red brick and features Bridgwater tile roofs, with a ridge stack on the main range, a south side stack, and an east end stack on the crosswing. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has a T-plan layout.
Notable architectural features include cyma-moulded flush stone mullion windows. The main range has two 3-light windows on each floor and a central 6-panel door set in a flush surround, topped with a hood supported by brackets. The crosswing has a half-hipped west gable and two dentilled brick bands. It features a 2-light window in the attic and 3-light windows on both the first and ground floors, all with small-paned lights and a sash centre. The long south side has a stack to the left, a dentilled band, and 3-light windows in the centre on each floor, along with a 2-light window to the right on the ground floor. The west side of the wing has 3-light windows on each floor and a plank door in a flush surround.
