Description
The Grange is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with alterations around 1830 and in the 1930s. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with three bays, and was extended towards the road by an additional bay around 1830. There is a large extension at the rear and a gabled stair tower that is clasped by a lean-to on the rear wing. A hipped porch extension was added to the rear of the third bay in the 1930s. The windows have rebated chamfered stone mullions, and the ground floor window sills were lowered in the 20th century. The open cast iron porch has a swept lead canopy, and there are ashlar stacks with cornices. Inside, there is some 17th-century panelling that has been refixed in the hallway, along with a similar door under the stair that features original decorative painting.
