Description
This barn, now serving as an outbuilding, dates back to the 15th century but was rebuilt around 1900 after a fire. It is constructed of coursed and dressed limestone rubble and features a stone-coped gabled stone slate roof. The south porch is notable for its diagonal clasping buttresses and a hood mould over a large double-chamfered pointed-arched doorway, with a pointed-arched doorway from around 1900 located to the left side. Inside, the barn has a 7-bay butt-purlin roof, mostly from the 18th century.
The barn is part of an important group of buildings that includes Belcombe Court, the Temple, Stables, Grotto, and Cottage to the west.
