Description

No. 30, Old Torquay Road is a house dating from the 1840s, with later alterations. The exterior is roughcast with a slate roof, gabled at the ends. It has stacks with rendered shafts; the right-end stack has old pots, one with a scalloped crest. The house is single-depth to the main range, two rooms wide with a central entrance. The symmetrical facade has three bays. A C20 gabled glazed porch now fronts the central entrance, and the ground-floor windows to the left and right are C20 casements. The three first-floor windows contain pretty early 19th-century 2-light casements, featuring hexagonal panes in the centre and margin panes. The interior has not been inspected. The property is included on the list for its group value, forming part of a group of pre-19th century vernacular houses in Preston.
