Description

The dovecote at Westrop Farmhouse is likely from the mid-to-late 17th century and has been altered over time. It features a square plan and stands two storeys tall. The exterior is made of rubble with a modern tile roof, which has raised and moulded verges and moulded footstones. The ground floor includes a large opening with a stone hood above it, which may have originally been accessed by steps. The first floor has an opening with later brick quoins. Inside, there is a beaten floor and a queen post truss with a stop-chamfered tie-beam.
