Description

The Wise monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 8 metres southeast of the chancel of the Church of St. James. It dates from the 18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a flat top with a moulded edge and a moulded plinth. It has quarter balusters and a raised central panel on the north side, adorned with a garland of fruit and flowers on each side. The narrow raised side panels are plain on the east, west, and south. The earliest decipherable date on the monument is 1770.
