Description
Marlwood Farmhouse has origins dating back to the mid-17th century but was extensively remodeled and enlarged in 1843, as indicated by the datestone above the south door. The building is constructed of rubble with freestone dressings and features a double Roman tiled roof with diagonal stone stacks. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and has three windows: the outer two are in advanced gabled cross wings, featuring 2, 3, and 4-light casements with chamfered mullions and transoms, all under square hoodmoulds with returns. There are also blocked single light windows in the attic. The central door is set under a 4-centred arch with an overlight, flanked by single light windows on either side. Additionally, two 17th-century wooden casements with mullions and transoms remain on the north (rear) elevation.
