Description
Highfield Park Farmhouse is a late 18th century building that incorporates earlier structures. It stands three storeys tall and is constructed of rubble with a slate roof featuring coped verges and stunted chimneys. The façade has five windows set in raised flat surrounds with edge-mouldings, including glazing bar sashes and casements on the ground floor, although the left-hand range is blind. The entrance is located on the side and leads into a long two-storey, five-bay extension that features a wide modern porch and a segmental modern archway. This extension includes a three-bay window-and-door arrangement with a Tudor arch and a richly carved Victorian door. The rear extension appears to be earlier 18th century, also made of rubble with a pantile roof. It retains three windows with mullions, while two of the doors were formerly mullion windows, and the others have been modernised. The building has a coped verge and gable end granary steps. It is part of a good group in a prominent position.
