Description

A late 18th or early 19th century barn stands on the common boundary of the parishes of Bitton (in the District of Kingswood) and Wick and Abson (in the District of Northavon). The barn projects to the north of Highfield Park Farmhouse. It is constructed of rubble with a pantile roof and features a central set of draught doors. An unusual hipped gabled midstrey is present, and the east front is set back. The south gable end of the barn is supported by an 'L'-plan extension from the farmhouse's early 18th century wing, and fronts a foldyard containing rubble and pantile outbuildings arranged facing east. The barn forms a good group with the farmhouse and outbuildings in a prominent location.
