Description

The Bee Garden is a house that likely originated as a barn, dating from the 15th or 16th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of rubble with stone dressings, partly rendered, and features a pantiled roof with raised coped verges and kneelers, as well as external gable stacks.

The east elevation has two storeys and two windows; the first floor includes a window with a depressed four-centred arch, a chamfered surround, and an iron lattice, while the ground floor has four 20th-century windows and a gabled porch. To the south, there is a 1½ storey lean-to with a 20th-century door and windows.

The north elevation features a gabled tower, likely the former stair, with slits in chamfered stone surrounds and a blocked four-centred arched door in a chamfered surround in the external stack. The west elevation has three 20th-century windows; the ground windows on the left and right have relieving arches, and the right side has a stopped hood mould. A former door to the right has a depressed four-centred arch with a hollow chamfer, which is now blocked and has a 20th-century window.

Inside, the first floor has a fireplace with a depressed four-centred arched head and a chamfered surround. The roof is visible in three bays to the north, featuring two rows of purlins and two tiers of windbraces, collars, and a winding wheel.
