Description

This is a pair of houses situated on a village street. They were built in 1828, as indicated by a datestone. The houses are constructed from limestone rubble, with a pantiled roof to the left-hand side and a double Roman tiled roof to the other. Brick ridge and gable stacks are present. Each house has two storeys and a single window. A plank and batten door is located on the left-hand side, and a ground and first-floor two-light casement window with two panes on each side and a cambered stone head is also present. The Rustic Cottage has a glass insertion into its door. A contemporary lean-to to the right features a door with a cambered head and a loading door above, with a segmental head. Above the loading door are two pigeon holes within a stone surround.
