Description

Bowden Farm is likely a 17th-century farmhouse, situated on Church Hill in Eggbuckland, Plymouth. It is constructed with a render on probable rubble, featuring a dry slate roof, with a hipped section to the right and to the rear of the cross wing. The building has a large rendered rubble stack to the front of the wing, and a large lateral stack to the left-hand side of the wing. The farmhouse follows a T-shaped plan, with a later lean-to addition at the rear. It is two storeys high, with a slightly asymmetrical three-window front. The ground-floor window on the left is wider spaced. The windows are 20th-century replacements, consisting of four-pane, two-light casements. A 20th-century door sits within a central doorway, protected by a slate hood. The interior has not been inspected.
