Description
No. 54 Vauxhall Street, also known as No. 50 Woolster Street, is a warehouse built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from Plymouth limestone rubble, featuring some dressed quoins and brick segmental arches above the openings. The building has an asbestos slate half-hipped roof that faces the street and a deep narrow plan.
The structure stands four storeys high and has a one-window-range front with a wide doorway on the ground floor. The right-hand side of the building has a total of four bays, with loading doorways in a tall opening on the upper floors to the left-hand bay, which includes a hinged iron loading bracket at the top left, all situated above an arched ground-floor doorway. The other bays contain windows, except for the central bay, which has a ground-floor doorway, and doorways to the right that have been converted from former window openings. The building features 20th-century casement windows and glazed doors, with the loading doorways having glazing above weatherboarding.
The interior has not been inspected but is likely to retain its original floors and roof structure.
