Description
The Guardhouse on Drake's Island in Plymouth is an early 19th-century building that underwent later alterations in the 19th century. It is constructed from slate and limestone rubble, featuring granite quoins, brick arches, and some patching. The roof is a dry slate hipped design. Originally, the building was square with a central doorway, but it has been extended on the southwest side. It is a single-storey, small rectangular structure with an asymmetrical southeast front. The doorway is positioned to the right and has cambered red brickwork with a planked door. To the left of the doorway, there is a small square window, and another small window is located above a blocked opening on the left side. No notable features were observed in the interior.
