Description

Lower Court Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, although a previous listing suggested a date of 1663 and that the building had been recently restored. It is constructed of rendered and coursed rubble with freestone dressings, and has a pantiled and double Roman tiled roof with brick stacks. The farmhouse is two storeys high with attics. The west elevation has four bays and features 3-light casement and cross windows with restored ovolo moulded mullions, surrounds, and dripmoulds. An off-centre 20th-century door is set within an ashlar surround. The east (rear) elevation has two steep gables and irregular fenestration of 2-light casement and cross windows. Some of these windows have ovolo moulded mullions and surrounds, while others have hollow chamfered mullions and surrounds, all under dripmoulds.
