Description
Hill House is thought to have been a dower house for Ashton Court, built around the 1830s to 1840s. The building is rendered with a slate roof featuring overhanging bracketed eaves and ashlar stacks. It stands three storeys tall and has three bays, plus one in a projecting wing to the right, which is topped by a large pediment. The ground floor has glazing bar sash windows, while the upper floors feature 2-light casements. The projecting wing includes a two-storey bow window with French windows on the ground floor and 16-pane sash windows on the first floor. There is a panelled and glazed door beneath a fanlight, set in a lined out, round-headed surround. Attached to the left is a single-storey, single-bay building, also topped by a pediment, which has a three-light casement window on the ground floor set in a tall semi-circular headed niche.
