Description

This is a mid-to-late 19th century Gothic lodge situated on The Avenue, with its entrance front facing west. It is largely one storey in height, although it features a two-storey tower on its south side. The lodge is constructed of rusticated masonry with ashlar dressings, and includes a sill band to the first floor of the tower. The roof is half-hipped, covered with slate, and features ridge cresting, a large metal finial, and stone stacks with crenellated tops and interlace detail. A small gablet with a finial is situated in the angle of the range to the left. Eaves display brackets and bargeboards. The right side of the building contains three windows, arranged over two storeys, each featuring paired pointed lights with a stone mullion and transom. An openwork glazed Gothic porch provides access to the entrance.
